Recent advances in information technology, including new commercial uses of the Internet and the World Wide Web, have created both a challenge and an opportunity to educate people in the new field known as Electronic Commerce or E-Business. In response to this need, The University of Memphis faculty offers a curriculum for a new interdisplinary Master of Science degree in Electronic Commerce. The faculty involved in this joint effort represent several areas in two colleges, The College of Arts and Sciences and The Fogelman College of Business and Economics. Members of the Memphis business community have expressed strong support and assisted in developing the program as well.

FedEx Emerging Technology Complex This pioneering new degree program, one of the first in E-commerce per se in the nation, has enormous potential to address the critical need for expertise in the area. It will promote technology education and research support and will make available to businessses in the city and region the appropriate expertise to competitively enter the new digital age. The program is also expected to have a highly beneficial, synergistic effect with the new FedEx Emerging Technology Complex being erected at The University of Memphis.
